7 things I will miss

As of today, it will be exactly 7 days before I will head back to the land of denial which I'm not really looking for to live at. But for the sake of my studies, my ambition and my future, I will try to not think much of it and I will always keep reminding myself that it's just gonna be the last ever 9 months over there. The last 9 months. The last 9 months. Oh I hope it'll be the not-so-dramatic-9-months.

I've made some points of the things that I will miss everytime I'm away to perantauan. Although every summer I'll be back at home for summer holiday, I still feel that 3 months of holiday are never enough for me. So here goes the list.

1. Family & friends.
  • This is a must. No one will go abroad without feeling homesick or at least teringat pada family or rumah or even your kucing. I am more to a family-guy which for me, family is everything. They must be in your top priority list whatever things you need to prioritise. Tanpa family, siapalah anda. haha. If u feel boring staying at home, who you might wanna be with? Of course you friends. So friends are good company and sometimes your life is influenced by them too.
2. Malaysian foods and delicacies.
  • Two words to describe Malaysia - Food Heaven. There's no fuss to find anything you want to eat here. From rojak to sushi, everything here you can eat. And the most importantly, they are all Halal. Need not to worry "Eh tempat ni halal ke? Boleh makan ke?" kinda thing where every overseas student experiences that. Nama pun syurga makanan, basically there's no such thing you cant find here and eat. In my place at sheffield, to have nasi lemak for dinner is like "wow, hari ni kita makan nasi lemak!" Tu belum jumpa roti canai segera lagi. To eat putu-piring or rojak pasembur in the uk is like the 8th wonder of the world.
3. Driving.
  • Driving is somehow one of my passion. I like to be in my car and drive while put up your music out loud. Driving is like a feeling that you can be anywhere whenever and wherever you want to be. The feeling of freedom I suppose. In UK, everything bergantung to its public transportation. Its quite tedious and expensive to own a car over there, and so public transportation is our main transportation. Everytime nak pegi mana2, kena book tiket awal la, then have to use debit card la, then kena pegi train station la, bus station la. One word - leceh. This is why I cant wait to have my very own car.
4. 24-Hours mamak stalls.
  • One of the reason I'll miss 24 hours mamak is because I hate the fact that everything is closed at 7pm in uk.There's no such shops to be opened for 24hours. No. Nothing.Nada.Zip. There's no night life at all. What I mean by night life is not lepaking at night-clubs or bars, but when its 7pm, everything is turned off. closed. dull. boring. jalan sepi. What I usually do during this time is just stay at home or hang-out at friends house. There's no such thing as "Jom kita lepak minum2 kat mapley sambil tgk bola or whatever". In the uk, when it comes to night, either you stay in your house, or your friends house. That's all. There's no outdoor activities at night. The cold weather makes everyone wants to stay at home I think. Oh another thing, uk tv channels are boring and you dont feel to watch tv at all other than SkySports of course haha.
5. Weather and the time zone.
  • I'm not saying that Malaysia's weather is perfect for me, but at least the weather is only cerah or hujan lebat. No cold and freezing winter. No dull or gloomy weather. And most importantly, no maghrib at 4pm. Its quite depressing when the day-time is shorter where it will turn dark at 4pm. I've been borned and raised at a place where only it turns dark at 7pm and to live at some place that's different from that is quite weird. I'm not a big fan of winter especially in uk. The most extreme depression weather I've ever had in my entire life. British weather is sucks. Everyone will agree with me by that - including the brits themselves.
6. Feel of belonging.
  • To feel belong to your country is very important. You'll feel that this is your place, your beloved country and you can do whatever you want. You wont feel that you are like pendatang and menumpang di negara orang which you usually feel living in overseas. How you see all the Indons and Banglas over here is like what they see us in the uk. We are like pendatang for them and we dont feel belong to them. Life is not as happy as here if you know what I mean.
7. Kuala Lumpur.
  • This is my favourite city. I was born and raised here makes me feel that this is my place. The place where you always want to be. Though sometimes the traffic jams made life not easy for everyone, I'm still like to live here. There's no such place like home and Kuala Lumpur is my home. Not Sheffield, Manchester, London or anywhere else. Enough said.
There are actually loads of things that somehow I will be missed but I think I just need to keep it on my own. Studying in overseas is a valueble experience and I shall be grateful of what I've got and not just keep complaining everyday. I know, my bad. Have a nice day friends! And bersyukur lah dengan apa yang dianugerahi pada kita okay? Selamat hari raya!

Something to learn outside class

Went out with my best mate, Imran Hashim for buka puasa at Subang Parade today. We discussed a lot about life and career. He somehow is my best friend since my secondary school and has finished study and look forward to work at Bank Negara after Aidilfitri. Sometimes when I need some motivation about study and life, I would go for him. He's the best motivator I ever had apart of her (you know who you are hehe). We talked about property investment and this idea has been in my mind since early summer holiday. I decided to buy a book from MPH entitled "Bagaimana Anda Boleh Menjadi Jutawan Hartanah Terbilang" by Milan Doshi. For information, Milan Doshi is one of millionaire property investors in Malaysia other than Azizi Ali. I bought the Malay version so that I could past it to Babah for his leisure time reading session. I've just read the book halfway tonight and it has really opened up some new idea and information about property investment especially in Malaysia. Looking forward to give a full review of the book as soon as I've finished read it. Thanks to Imran for suggesting me this book.

Dear friend

Life is sweet because of the friends we have made,
and the things which in common we share.

We want to live on not because of ourselves,
but because of the ones who would care.

It's living and doing for somebody else,
on that all of life's splendour depends.

And the joy of it all, when we count it all up,
Is found in the making of friends.

The end of Ramadhan

Its going to be the end of Ramadhan already. Its the last 10 nights of Ramadhan. The third phase of the holy month. The most important nights of nights. Muslims including me are suggested to make a full use of these nights. Pray and du'a. I just wish I could have a blessed life. A prosperity life. A life without hassle of life. I just wish that everything would be easy for me for facing all kind of stages of life. I have learnt some and lose some. Life isn't meant to be always happy but life isn't meant to be always sad either.

For these last 10 nights, lets us pray and use our nights to ask for forgiveness, a bliss life and for a better future. It's sad to realize that Ramadhan has finally come to an end. Ma' Salaama ya Ramadhan. May we meet again in the near future.

Being a man

What's with being a man. A thing to ponder for every man in the world. Is it just enough for being a man where you go to men's toilet at shopping complexes? Or just to be a boyfriend to your girlfriend? Or anything you do that only men do. A man needs to know that he's a real man. Being humble to others yet respectable from your colleagues. A man does not need to worry about how "man" he is. There is no such word as a manhood. To me, a man is just one of a kind in the world that's different in gender with a woman. To be a man in its real sense sometimes means being able to take the lead. It means being able to set the pace or progress of a relationship. It also means being able to lead a girl to make a decision when she is not in the mood to decide. When a man is being a man, a girl can become a woman and surrender and submit herself to him. And open her heart for him . To accept and receive him whole fully without any inhibition.

Then only a relationship will bloom and expand. And is beneficial to both parties. Be a man my friend, just be a man.

The only thing you need to change yourself

I have been having this idea for quite some time. And now only I am able to put it into words.I was once thinking how can a person be more attractive to the opposite sex in the simplest way. And the answer is simple . Very simple indeed (I have been practising the art of simplicity lately but lets keep that for another post). For men, in order to be more attractive , most of the time he needs to alter a little bit of his personality. When I say personality, it includes the way a guy thinks which is translated to to the way he acts (around women). Let’s focus on one small aspect of personality. Fashion sense. Deria fesyen. Most of my male friends who I consider to be fairly attractive passively (intelligent, have good job, interesting conversationalist), are not giving enough attention to the way they dress. To this group of guys, they think they should just be themselves and girls should just like them them for who they are. To me, this is very wrong. In terms of dating, seduction and attraction, what is the purpose of clothes? Clothes serve the purpose of conveying your inner-identity to the rest of the world. So if one thinks being sloppy is an attractive personality to convey to the world, go ahead and dress up sloppily. To get this correctly, if a guy is into music, dress up like a rockstar and let the world see your true self. The passion in music will ignite the passion in the girls towards you ! And for the girls, you just have to alter the way you appear. Sorry, but the world is very superficial. Of course guys want girls with personality but we still need to wake up in the morning seeing a beautiful face next to us. I believe there are plenty of ways to be beautiful and that is why we have all those countless female magazines in the first place, don’t we ?

So there you go, the only thing you need to change in yourself. A portion of your personality for men. And the way you appear for women.

P/s: I need to read more magazines about mens fashion and personality, I guess haha.

Next mobile phone

People are using more sophisticated handphone nowadays and I think its time for me to upgrade my phone too! Plus, I've just ended my previous 18months contract with O2 and I need to find a brand new phone for my remaining days in UK. Confused by so many choices of handphones in the market, I've decided to short-list down some of them that caught my eyes. Well basically my criteria for my future phone will have:
  1. WIFI function. Internet on the go is a trend sekarang.
  2. Large screen, it helps for snapping pictures purposes.
  3. Excellent phone camera - at least 5mega pixels.
  4. Audio jack of 3.5mm so that I could use my Seinheiser earphone
  5. Large capacity of memory - more memory space means more pictures, more music.
  6. QWERTY keypads - SMS will be sent quicker!
  7. Not fully touch screen - Not a big fan of touch screen, but sikit2 boleh lah.
  8. Looks cool like its owner - hahaha
So here goes the candidates:

Blackberry Bold 9000

iPhone 3GS

Nokia E72

So these are my candidates, nak pilih yang mana satu ni? Semua pun ada pros and cons, but one thing for sure, iPhone 3GS will be on the bottom of the list, because its still pricey. Let the money talks for itself I guess...
